Curriculum
Our programs emphasize nationally recognized early childhood practices,
such as skill building, academics and free-play activities. Our teachers support
and facilitate a curriculum that encourages creativity, positive self-awareness, exploration, respect for others, decision-making, problem-solving skills and
Jewish identity. We offer a variety of programs depending upon the age of
your child – each designed to contribute to his/her social, emotional, physical
and intellectual development.
A large part of the learning process at this age involves a child’s social and
emotional development. Our teachers work to establish a trusting, comfortable relationship with each child. The children are encouraged to verbalize their
feelings and to respect the feelings, needs and differences of their peers.
Centers for dramatic play permit the exploration of interpersonal relationships
and problem-solving techniques.
Opportunities for individual and group physical play are available in our
outside play area, indoor climbing room and in the classroom. Our play
spaces encourage the children to test their large motor skills while the
manipulative materials in our classrooms enhance the development of
small motor skills as well as hand-eye coordination.
We engage children’s minds by providing a rich, well-ordered classroom environment with varied activities involving art, language, math and science.
Field trips and classroom visitors are also part of the curriculum and Jewish
culture and traditions are woven into several aspects of our curriculum.
Our integrated celebrations of Shabbat and Jewish holidays include songs,
art, stories, food and special guests.
